Probably the most admired area of London where you can find all you are looking for, trendy cafes, designer label shops, theatre and more. The area of Notting Hill is close to central London and is one of the most fashionable and expensive residential area of London. Have you seen the movie Notting Hill (1999) starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts? It was all shot in this area. Before 1950's this area was rather impoverished and it is now the center of Afro-Caribbean culture. Notting Hill Carnival is a famous annual event that gets a large turnout and is now celebrated as the largest street festival in the world.

Another remarkable feature of this part of London is the Portobello Road, which is very famous for its unique collection of antiques. If you are a collector, you would spend hours getting amazed by the things you will find here. You will also spend time at the interesting shops lining the north end of Portobello Road. Another area worthy of exploration is the All Saints Road with its two blocks of street smart eating, drinking and shopping.

Looking for some action and adventure? Go around the junction of Westbourne Grove & Needham Road and Westbourne Grove & Ledbury Road. The modish galleries and eateries are sure to keep you busy all day long. Sometimes considered part of Central London the areas of Kensington and Chelsea are the most posh places to live in the country. The most popular spot in this area is the Kings Road, which is speckled with distinguished and attractive shopping street and thoroughfare. The shops along Sloane Street are dominated by global fashion names. Find more charm to Chelsea at the Walton Street, Beauchamp Place or the Pont Street.

South of Notting Hill is the chic and expensive area of Holland Park that also provides London one of its largest parks. It is near Kensington High Street and contains something of interest for everyone. You can enjoy various sports, a cafeteria and also opera performances here. Mayfair is the ultimate destination for the affluent foreigners due to its refined hotels. The wealthy Arabs, Americans and East Asian outnumber the local aristocrats here. Bond Street is known for its top class shopping and you can go gem shopping at Sotheby's.

Regent Street, Bond Street, Piccadilly and Oxford Street are full of energy. Most of the shops, auction houses and galleries, restaurants and bars in the area have a very up class clientele.
