Luisa Cerano Fashion Styles Incorporates Nautical Themed Clothing and the Slim Illusion Effect

A new trend of nautical themed clothing is bursting out on to the fashion scene. There has been a major resurgence in the proliferation of pinstriped blouses. The advantage of pinstripes gives the optical illusion of a thinner, more complimentary to the body fit as opposed to older designs such as swivels which are now becoming redundant. Catwalk reports from January-March 2010 are also predicting a resurgence of tapered trousers and flanneled tunics. This is clearly a cataclysmic period for the entire fashion system when celebrities are flaunting themselves in public wearing clothing from a forgotten era. Perhaps we are merely experiencing silhouettes of a future that is yet to come. What have we become? We are looking into the eyes of a futuristic society where we will be able to order a product as soon as it comes off the catwalk. With these kind of advancements trends may become increasingly unimportant with consumers preferring to lean to their own spontaneous inclinations. It's times like these that make us nostalgic of the pre-internet era. Thankfully in this time of extreme confusion and darkness there are still cutting edge designers to lead us to the light of fashion excellence.

The emergence of European lines in the American market is a highly sought after look by women of all ages. Major lines with high credentials that do not fit the bland 'high brand' labels are gaining increasing popularity with the 'rich nice' of socialites who want to separate themselves from the super edgy and the cliche.

The Luisa Cerano fashion collection provides modern, elegant and unique clothing for those who want to express themselves to the fullest. Cultivating mainly Italian fabrics, flawless craftsmanship is used to deliver a striking collection of distinct clothing. From shirts and knitted tops to an array of leather and fur items, Luisa Cerano provides a sophisticated yet stunning collection of clothes for the contemporary woman. Such fashion is certainly welcomed in a world where liberated women are becoming increasingly comfortable in "hipster sweats". While it is certainly a comforting feeling as the smooth velvet layer brushes against our sensitive skin; we must be very careful. Are we creating rationalisations for our enjoyment of this somewhat decadent trend or is it genuinely the most fashionable look on the catwalk? As tempting as it is to rejoice in donning pajama bottoms, it is not our duty as fashion worshipers to look elegant?

Las Vegas Holidays Offer Something For Everyone

Most people think that visitors travel to Las Vegas to gamble, hoping to win some big money. Others have heard that it is known for famous musical performances and stage shows. If you do a bit of research before traveling you will find that there is a lot more to do there. Some Las Vegas Hotels provide its guests with alternative activities.

Most of the lodging locations have restaurants and decorative embellishments that make them unique or stand out from the rest. Some host celebrations or fireworks nightly. Others provide thrills and chills on extreme amusement style rides. Some create romantic or other worldly atmospheres once you pass through the entrance doors.

This has been called Sin City by some, and most just refer to it as Vegas. Whatever you choose to call it, this city has quite a history. The area where it is located once once home to two different Indian tribes. Later the Mormon Church built a fort to supply travelers going from Utah to California. After Mormons stopped using the fort, mining and farming took over. The town was located perfectly for the railroad to establish a stop here between Salt Lake City, Utah and Los Angeles, California. After officially becoming a city in 1905, Las Vegas experienced several periods of growth. Building of the Hoover Dam brought many workers to the area in 1931, the same year that gambling was legalized in Nevada. At the beginning of World War II it grew again when Nellis Air Force Base was built on the northeast part of the city.

The end of World War II saw the most development and influx of residents. Hotels and casinos were built to create a resort city. As it still is today, Vegas became a popular tourist destination and the tourist and entertainment industry the biggest employer by far. Then in the 1960s Howard Hughes, aviator and film maker, encouraged other corporations to join him in investing in Las Vegas hotels. At the same time several of the hotels were being run by mafia families haling from New York, Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit and Cleveland.

The city is constantly in flux. A good number of hotels have been rebuilt, or renovated since they were constructed. Others were demolished and replaced by something deemed bigger and better. No matter which, each one is known for something unique. Some resemble famous places and structures from around the globe, others have flashing lights and pyrotechnic displays to entertain guests. Most have very good restaurants serving buffets, steaks and seafood.

Vegas is also known as a convention and trade show hosting city. Some centrally located hotels provide convention center or exhibit hall space to hold trade shows where individual booths and even large vehicles are set-up for viewing. Planning a show or employee retreat here will allow participants to relax and play a bit after meetings.

The main drag, called the strip is often packed with cars. It is recommended to walk rather than be stuck behind drivers and passengers who become distracted by the spectacle while traffic slows to a crawl. If you want to get away from the cit for a day to play golf or visit one of the state or national parks, your concierge will be able to arrange for a rental car, or suggest a tour operator.

A trip to Las Vegas may cause sensory overload, or delight all of your senses. Lights burn brightly and bells, sirens, fireworks and more can be herd. You will enjoy tasting a variety of food and drink while feeling the dice or coins in the palm of your hand. This is a trip you won't likely forget.

Hints For Super Natural Happiness in Relationships

Intent: Never cause others harm -verbally or physically.

Self-Respect: Don't do stuff that you're not proud enough to put on the front page of any global newspaper.

Mindfulness: Don't differentiate between thoughts, words and actions; they all have an impact on the world around you.

Appreciation: Don't bemoan the past. Nature always provides, just look around.

Contentment: Don't grope for things to make you happy. When you find yourself doing this, refuse it. Get in the habit of being happy now. Then, if you choose, grope for things.

Evolve: Challenge yourself to do things that are uncomfortable, but enjoy the process. This is a life changing habit.

Inspiration: Remind yourself that criticising, abusing, judging, hating or being negative or angry actually increases the incidence of a problem.

Empower: Don't blame the company, God, people, your partner, the world, yourself, nature, elephants, your school teacher or the government for your unhappiness. It's not them or you that's a problem, it's how you think that's a problem, and that's easy to fix. Right?

Balance: Witness the balance of life in every incident of your day. It's a way to stay connected to your authentic awe. Don't wait until the end of the day to celebrate life, miracles and love.

Presence: Turn-up in the Now, not tomorrow or yesterday. Whenever you hear yourself saying, "Gee, I'm looking forward to.... ", catch yourself and make sure it's not evasion of the present moment.

Higher Minded: Focus your emotional expression on Generosity, Kindness, Compassion and Appreciation. That'll make your relationship sing.

Newcastle, England - Culture, History and Fun

Newcastle has a rich and diverse history that will appeal to everyone. It offers a great mix of fun and historical significance. Alongside its modern attractions are architectural treasures and monuments. Some of the most famous attractions are listed below:

- Before he originally built the city now known as Newcastle, Hadrian built a wall out of stone and timber across the width of northern England. Opinions differ on the subject, but the majority of people believe that it was constructed to define the frontier of Roman land of England, and as a defendable barrier against the Scots. The city sits alongside the wall and it is still clearly visible today.

- Grainger Town is an area of Newcastle designed and built by the celebrated builder and developer Richard Grainger. It has a central conservation area of about 36 hectares which contains around four hundred and fifty buildings, of which, two hundred and forty four are listed, twenty nine are grade one and forty nine are grade two. It is the most scenic area of the city and one particular street, Greys Street, has been voted as the most beautiful street in Britain.

- The Angel of the North is a sculpture that was designed by internationally renowned sculptor Antony Gormley. It was built in the mid-1990s with financial backing from the United Kingdom's National Lottery fund. It is the UK's largest sculpture and is thought to be the world's largest angel structure. Probably due to its location, it is one of the most viewed pieces of art in the world. It is seen by ninety thousand people everyday, or thirty three million per year!

As well as those attractions, you will also find a wide range of theaters, museums, shopping malls, etc. to entertain you whilst you are in Newcastle. If you are in the UK, it is certainly worth putting in the effort to visit Newcastle - you will not be disappointed!

Skin Care For Aging Skin - Discover Top Skin Care Lines That Prevent and Cure Wrinkles

When it comes to nourishing your skin to cure wrinkles, you deserve real top skin care lines, not ones trying to sell you an illusion through celebrity endorsements. There are numerous skin care lines, but how do you know which one is the best for you? This question can be answered only when you understand the cause of wrinkles and which products actually cure wrinkles without irritating your skin.

You need to look for products containing ingredients which stimulate production of significant proteins in the skin. Such products should have high levels of ingredients that stimulate the regrowth of collagen and elastin. Also, these products should contain high levels of antioxidants to neutralize the free radicals in your skin.

What are collagen and elastin? Collagen is a fibrous protein that defines the structure of your skin. As you get older, collagen begins to wear away, leaving you with wrinkles. Elastin is another significant protein. This protein retains the elasticity in your skin. With age this protein wears away, causing your skin to sag.

To restore these two proteins or to prevent them from wearing away quickly, it's important to use only top skin care lines that really work. Skin care lines to look for are ones that do not claim to put these proteins back into your skin instantly. These inferior skin care lines usually have collagen listed as an ingredient on their labels. But the problem with this is: collagen cannot penetrate your skin. Collagen molecules simply are too large to penetrate the epidermis.

Ingredients to look for are ones such as Cynergy TK. Such ingredients are not a quick but slowly stimulate the production of collagen without peeling your skin. Also, the effects of such ingredients have long-lasting effects and do not require you to use very costly procedures that can severely irritate your skin.

Phytessence Wakame and Natural Vitamin E are other ingredients to look for. These ingredients are potent antioxidants and replenish your skin with new cells while getting rid of free radicals. Free radicals eat up the healthy skin cells and cause collagen to break down. So, when looking for the top skin care lines, make sure they contain powerful antioxidants.

In your search, be sure to stay away from harmful ingredients like synthetic preservatives, parabens, harsh alcohols, and petroleum based substances. Many products claim to be high-quality according to misleading advertisements. In addition to the above ingredients, these products have a few good ingredients - just enough to entice you to buy them. But you do not have to fall for this. Use your knowledge to avoid these products. They could do more harm than good. Opt for products that are actually in the top skin care lines, instead.

Body Contouring - Know the Various Procedures

Abdominal etching is a sculpting surgical procedure that removes excess fat and skin. Underlying abdominal muscles are revealed as a toned and defined six-pack. Bicep, tricep and calf implants add increased mass and muscular definition to upper arms and lower legs. Soft silicone material is used to improve the look and feel of these muscle groups without extra time at the gym. Fat transfers are a non-allergenic and bio-compatible way to improve the contours of your body without silicone or saline. Post-operative complications and the chances of implant rejection are reduced, while disproportionate features are touched up and rounded out. This type of surgery can be used in conjunction with implants or lift.

Body lift surgery tightens and tones after a variety of life-changing events. Those that experience massive weight loss, childbearing, or the normal effects of aging may benefit from body lift surgery that contours the abdomen, thighs and buttocks. The bra-line back lift is a relatively new cosmetic surgery that removes unsightly back rolls and hides the scar under the bra-line. This procedure can be the best way to remove sagging skin caused by aging, sun exposure or massive weight loss.

Butt implants are becoming more common with the rise of celebrity figures that have curvy behinds. Pants and jeans look and fit better with a fuller, rounder bottom. Often patients are at the perfect weight for their shape and frame, but still find themselves fighting stubborn cellulite. Cellulite can result from hormonal changes and surface treatments do little to remedy the skin texture. Cellulite removal surgery is a definitive way to improve the contour and shape of upper thighs.

Labiaplasty involves cosmetic surgical improvements to the labia major and labia minora. Some women find immense physical and psychological benefits in this type of surgery. Few surgeons are qualified for labiaplasty because it involves extensive experience and expertise. Customized results are available for each and every patient, so be sure to discuss your concerns and expectations with your doctor.

Another type of surgery that is popular after childbearing or massive weight loss is panniculectomy. This involves removal or excess skin and fat in the abdominal region below the umbilicus. While panniculectomy does not tighten the muscle (as in abdominoplasty) it is often performed in conjunction with other procedures for an overall benefit.

Sclerotherapy is a medical treatment for removal of unsightly spider veins. Spider veins are tiny, superficial veins on the surface of the skin.

Vietnam War - What Went Wrong?

The politics of war should be left in the hands of the military not the politicians. When engaged in battle the military leadership should have the ability to decide what are the proper actions to take for #1 to win and #2 to minimize our casualties. Its been proven time and time again when the politicians get involved with military decisions we suffer the loss of good men and women who serve our nation.

The Vietnam War (1964 to 1973) is a good example of politicians gone wild. Not only was this war botched by the political apparatus but it was our government that controlled the news media on what to report and what not to. Whether the war was something we should have gotten involved with or not is and never was the point in my estimation. The point was Americans, the youth of our nation who were put in harm's way with their hands tied behind their backs. I guess that was considered politically correct not to use the power and might at our disposal against a smaller country or weaker country that we are at war with. That kind of thinking cost us over 300,000 wounded with over 58,000 killed in action and over 700 POWs ( just over 100 died in captivity).

The men and women who served during the Vietnam War deserve our respect and our gratitude. The sacrifices they had to live through not only having served in the war but just being a soldier when the military was not very popular in those days. The misreporting of atrocities propagated supposedly by American soldiers reflected upon all our military. Every war has atrocities that are carried out by both sides. This is a reality of war, it happened before Vietnam in other wars and still happens today. You never heard anything good about the actions of our service people over in Vietnam but there were plenty.

Our military did not lose the war in Vietnam. The fact is our military won every conflict and battle that it engaged in during that conflict. The politicians who wavered under public pressure resulting in tying the hands of our military leaders lost this political war.

Celebrate this Memorial Day and honor those fallen heroes of an unpopular war. If you know anyone that served their country during the Vietnam War whether stationed their or not show your appreciation for their devotion, their steadfast to stand with their country at a difficult time of our history. Visit Mall4Men.com and check their military clocks, military watches and military rings they offer at reasonable prices. They also have a Gifts4Her department for that special lady in your life.

The Keys to Finding Your Passion in Life

Following your passion can be exciting, but a very difficult thing to do. Knowing what your passion is can be even more difficult and elusive.

Many of us dream about doing something with our lives that we are excited about and enjoy doing. But many times, we don't know how we can do these things and still make a living doing them. I am going to share a few keys to finding your passion in life, and to figure out if this may allow you to make a living following your dream and passion.

1. Ask yourself... What are you good at? Everyone has talents, skills and certain aptitude for things that has been demonstrated throughout their life. Have you shown skills with people, selling, teaching, coaching etc? Do you like more technical things and have ideas on how to design or engineer things and make things work better? Or perhaps, do you have hobbies or projects that you like to do in your spare time that excite you? Any of these things could be your passion. Take some time to think about what you like to do, and are good at, and this may help you find your passion.

2. What gets you excited? It could be something that you do at work, a part of your job. Or it could be something outside of work, a hobby, volunteer opportunities, things you do with your spouse or friends. It might even be something you have not done since childhood...just give thought to what motivates you and gets you up in the morning!

3. What types of things do you read about. With information at our fingertips today, internet, cell phones, magazines and newspapers, ask yourself, what areas you usually read about and are interested in. If you were in a bookstore, what section would you immediately head to to get more information? What magazines do you usually read? Think about the topics and areas that you read about to help understand your interests and passion.

4. What do you secretly dream of doing? You may have had thoughts in childhood about being a fireman, an astronaut, a designer, a race car driver. As we grow older, fear and self-doubt holds us back and we "settle" for something more "realistic" in our careers, and never give any thought to what our dreams were when we were younger. Take some time to think about your childhood dreams and make a list of your choices to help you get creative in your thoughts.

5. Make a list of all the things that have been mentioned in this article and pick the one thought that excites you the most. Do some research and read up on it. Find people in that field that are successful to see what they are doing. Make a list of things you would need to learn and improve on, people you would talk to, and skills you would need to master if you were to pursue this activity. Continue to research the opportunity to see if your interest level continues as you discover more information about this "passion".

6. Experiment with the top 2-3 things on your list. Try doing some of the activities on your list to see how you feel when you do it. Does it motivate and excite you, or is it not exactly what you thought it would be and isn't as much fun as you though it would be? After you have taken some time to try this out, ask yourself what motivates you the most out of these activities? Which of these could you see yourself doing for many years to come, even if it's not a traditional career path? Pick one idea to focus on and give it a try. If, after awhile you feel like you are losing interest in the first activity, there is no shame in moving on to your next choice to see if that would be a better fit.

7. Eliminate your Fears! Self-doubt and fear of failure are the biggest obstacles for most people. Acknowledge it instead of denying it in order to move forward. Take small steps at first to gain confidence and celebrate even small successes as you get started. Focus on having fun and believing in your passion. Make it a priority to find the time to follow your passion, even if it means getting up early, or staying up late to do it. Do what it takes to accomplish your passion!

8. Can you make a living at it? This could take months or years to really know, but if you are having fun and knowing that you would do this even if you were not paid, you are living your passion! It is not easy...it requires a lot of soul searching, learning, experimenting, courage, and commitment. But, when you get to the point when someone would pay you for it, all of your time and effort will be worth it, because you are doing what makes you happy and gets you out of bed in the morning regardless of how much money you make.

I hope this guide has proven helpful to you, so that you will find what your true passion is and you can live the fulfilled life that is meant for you. As Confucius said; Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life!

Change - Mindset Myths

While many of us resist it, change is something that must and will take place. Change is a given because all of life is a constant evolution. Nothing stays the same for indefinite periods of time. And nothing should stay exactly the same. Change is what pushes us to become new and better people over and over again. If change didn't take place, we'd be stagnant creatures, incapable of dealing with problems, issues, and challenges. If change didn't happen, we'd be dull, uninspired, and pretty much dead inside. Change is what helps us feel alive!

Many folks experience a lot of difficulty facing and adjusting to change. Why is that? We have a tough time with change primarily because we focus on several mindset myths that keep us stuck. Do you see yourself in any of the following?

1. I can't change.

Telling yourself that you cannot change blocks your ability to do anything differently from how you do it now. This kind of a mental message puts up a brick wall. Instead of saying that you cannot make changes (change implying something major inside of your head)) why not tell yourself that you are capable of making small shifts? All people are able to step a bit to the right or a bit to the left of what they are currently doing. Here's an example: Rather than continue to conduct weekly two hour staff meetings that require a big time investment for everyone involved, try one hour meetings that cover what's most important.

2. I don't handle change very well.

Whatever we tell ourselves has a way of coming true. If we believe we don't handle change well, we won't. If we believe we do handle change well, we will. Know that there is so much power in the message we play in our minds. How about flipping your negative message to its opposite? Try taping a little card or strip of paper to your bathroom mirror, kitchen cupboard, and car dash board. On these cards write: I am amazed at how well I cope with every change that comes into my life. Read this message aloud multiple times each day to reprogram your brain.

3. Change is bad.

If you tell yourself that change is bad, do you know how that belief developed? Where did this come from? Did you hear your parents and other relatives say it when you were growing up? Did you have a negative experience after making a particular change in your life? Whatever the case, understand that some change is bad and some is good. Each potential change needs to be assessed in terms of its benefits. Ask yourself how making a certain change will create different results from those you are getting now. Will those new results bring you greater happiness, less stress, more productivity, increased efficiency, improved skills? If you can honestly say yes to even several of those pluses, then that particular change may be very good indeed.

4. Change takes too much effort.

There is a price to pay for choosing to avoid change--especially change that really needs to happen. Anything in life worth having is worth the effort you put forth to attain it. Think about all the things you've accomplished. They required effort on your part, didn't they? Earning a college degree takes effort. Marrying and staying married takes effort. Bearing children and raising them takes effort. Getting up in the morning and working a job takes effort. Meeting new friends and maintaining those relationships takes effort. Consciously decide to make the effort to change what isn't serving you at home and at work. Dodging these changes brings misery, unfulfillment, disappointment, even resentment down the road.

5. Change is painful.

Initially, certain changes may in fact be painful: moving away from home for the first time, assuming more financial responsibility in order to start a family, inconveniencing yourself to take care of an ailing parent, starting a brand new job, firing a dead wood employee, giving up substance abuse, leaving a destructive marriage. If you avoid all pain, you don't do anything. Temporary pain can be a forerunner to greater joy and richness in life. That said, not all change is painful. Taking a vacation to a tropical island in the middle of winter is fun, not painful. You change your environment but are not upset by it. Receiving a sizable raise at work is an occasion to celebrate. What a welcome change! Now you can afford that house you've wanted to buy.

6. Change is to be feared.

Fears are generally learned. We really aren't born to be afraid of much that we fear. It's appropriate to fear a stalker or a house fire. It's not appropriate or beneficial to fear many of the changes we experience in our lives. Have you ever been presented with the opportunity to move into a more satisfying job but ended up declining the offer out of fear? Fear of failure or lack of self confidence? How sad if this has been your experience. Think of change as a gift instead of something to be afraid of. Change comes to us to stretch us, enrich us, and develop us. The more you allow change into your life, the more you will evolve into the person you are meant to be in this world. Frequently our sadness and disappointment comes from choosing stagnancy.

So what beliefs should we have instead of the negative ones mentioned above? Ingrain the following deep into the fibers of your being, and watch your whole life light up:

1. I am able to change whenever I need to or desire to change.

2. I handle change very easily.

3. Many changes in my life are good and bring me joy.

4. I am willing to put effort into change that is appropriate for me.

5. Most changes in my life feel good to me.

6. I welcome change and delight in it.

The Dior Grand Ball

The Christian Dior Museum in Granville will for the first time ever bring together over 50 Dior ball gowns for the new exhibition "The Dior Grand Ball", from May 13 to September 26, 2010.

This remarkable new exhibition places the universe and creations of Christian Dior-haute couture, accessories and fragrances from the House of Dior, plus paintings, photographs, archive films and literary works-in a unique context: the history of balls, from the 18th century to the present.

The exhibition is a tribute to Christian Dior himself, showcasing his talent and refinement, and his love of sumptuous costumes, expressed in creations for the grand balls of the post-war period. The couturier was part of myriad memorable events, including the 1949 Kings and Queens Ball, which he attended disguised as the "King of the Animals", the Bal des Artistes (Artists' Ball) in 1956, for which he dressed as a dandy, or the Masks and Dominos Ball hosted by Charles de Beistegui at the Palazzo Labia in Venice in 1951. Several of the gowns and parade costumes created by Christian Dior for this mythic ball - often described as "the party of the century"- will be loaned by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and the Musée Galliera.

The first part of the exhibition will evoke the sources of inspiration that nourished the imagination of Christian Dior himself: his youth, marked by balls at the Granville Casino, followed by his discovery in Paris of the Opera ballets and the Russian ballets. Also featured are his friendships with musician Henri Sauguet and the decorator Christian Bérard and his deep passion for artistic creation and the artists of his time. One of the major pieces in the exhibition is Kees Van Dongen's Self-Portrait as Neptune (1922), which served as the inspiration for Christian Dior's very first ball costume. This exceptional work has been loaned for the exhibition by the Musée National d'Art Moderne (Pompidou Center).

The second part of the exhibition covers the period from the 1980s to the present, evoking the renaissance of grand balls such as the "Debutante Ball", and showcases the "new balls" given by the House of Dior in recent decades. Included are the "Bal des Artistes", for which John Galliano drew inspiration from the grand masters-- Goya, Velasquez, Rembrandt, Vermeer and others-to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Maison Dior at the Château de Versailles in 2007, as well as the "Ball in Honor of the Marquise Cassati", which inspired the 1998 Spring-Summer Haute Couture collection. The exhibition also presents the parties given by Parfums Christian Dior in the grandest tradition of elegant balls. The "Poison" (1985) and "Dune" (1991) balls given at the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, as well as the "Midnight Poison" evening held at the Paris Opera in 2007-immortalized in the advertising spot by director Wong Kar-wai-are all displayed in the exhibition.

8 Practical Steps to Reduce Overwhelm

Do you ever feel overwhelmed and that no matter how much you do, it is never enough and you just cannot get ahead? Do you have too much to do in too little time?

Close your eyes and feel what overwhelm physically feels like. Some people experience it as a heavy feeling, as if they're drowning or as if something is pushing down on them or smothering them.

However you experience overwhelm, I'm going to share with you some simple and practical steps to help, but first some important background information.

When we experience overwhelm, our adrenaline and cortical (stress hormone) levels rise. The problem with this (other than the fact that our bodies can become addicted to these higher levels) is that it inhibits our intellectual abilities; it actually 'dumbs' us down. Usually however, instead of taking time out to address the problem most of us continue to push through, thinking that we'll deal with it later. 'Later' of course, rarely comes and that is exactly why it is crucial that you take some time out during overwhelm to address it; spending an hour a week to help yourself will save you more than an hour on the long run and probably add years to your life; more importantly, it will significantly improve your quality of life.

Now before we start digging into the details I'd like to tell you a short story.

"One day a boy was walking in a forest when he came across a man who was chopping down a tree with an axe. The man wasn't making much progress because the axe had worn blunt from years of use.

The boy sat down and watched the man for a while and then said 'Hey, mister, if you go down this little footpath here there is a stream. By the stream there is a whetstone to sharpen your axe.'

The man paused, looked at the boy and said, 'Can't you see I'm busy?'"

What does this story have to do with overwhelm? Everything!

Whether you prefer EFT, meditation or breathing to help centre yourself, playing music or spending time in nature, I'm going to share with you some practical steps that you can implement to prevent and overcome overwhelm.

But let me save you some time right away: if you're not willing to spend an hour on implementing the steps and save yourself hours of overwhelm, don't read any further. The steps will only work if you implement them!

1. Become the Boss

The first and most important step is to meet the real boss - you! Put a 'THE BOSS IS IN' sign up on your desk or just imagine becoming the boss; sit, think and feel as if you are the boss. Think about it... If you aren't the one making decisions about your life, who is?

If you work for someone else we're not talking about taking over their role and losing your job in the process! If you have a boss that decides your work priorities that just means they'll do one of the most important tasks (prioritising) for you. And you can still use the other steps to manage your time more effectively and reduce overwhelm.

2. Get It All in One Place

Write down everything on your wish-lists and to-do lists in one place. Using something like Excel works really well for this but paper is ok too.

Now ask yourself... 'Why am I doing this task? Why is this important to me? What does it mean to me to complete this task? '

Unless there's a good reason to do it, why do it at all? How important is it really to clear out that bottom drawer in the kitchen or to re-arrange your CD collection? Would you really rather do that instead of spending time with your friends?

It's OK if that is true for you but at least this way you are making a conscious and empowered decision rather than just mindlessly going from task to task, getting more frustrated and de-motivated as you don' seem to ever finish anything.

3. Break Goals into Tasks

Check every item on that list; if it's a big or general goal like 'Refurbish house' rather than a specific task like 'paint front room, break it down to individual tasks, for example

1. Decide on wall colours for all rooms.

2. Buy paint and paintbrushes or, if you're not the one that will be doing the work (we're going to talk about that later), find a good decorator.

3.... The reason why it is important to break down your bigger goals into manageable tasks is to keep it manageable and achievable - else it can easily become overwhelming and procrastination sets in!

Even by the very act of breaking it down you are already starting to reduce overwhelm as you build confidence in your own ability to accomplish these individual tasks. It also helps you identify which tasks you are able and willing to do, and which tasks are best given to someone else.

A word of warning; don't break down the tasks into too small steps, don't break down 'Buy paint' into mini-steps like getting into the car, driving to the hardware store, getting out of the car, walking towards the store etc!

What If I Cannot Break The Goals Into Tasks Yet?

If the goal is really big or you're not ready to start it yet, it may be that you don't know yet what the individual tasks are. If you're unable to break down a goal into tasks because you're not sure what the tasks are (because the goal is huge or because you're not quite ready to start this yet), you can either:

a) Write down a simple task that you can do to begin like 'Do 30 minutes of research on the internet' or 'talk to my friend Barbara who knows about this'.

Or

b) Move this to another page called 'Ideas' - which are meant for those ideas that you want to keep track of and will get to once the other, more immediate tasks on your list are complete.

Measurable Outcome

Make sure that every task has a measurable outcome.

A task of 'Relax more' does not have a measurable outcome which means that you will never know when you've actually completed it. 'Spend at least 30 minutes in the park this week' does have a measurable outcome which means that you'll know when you've achieved it and as we all know, success breeds success; the more you complete your tasks and achieve your goals (no matter how small they are!) the more confidence and natural momentum you'll have towards achieving those bigger goals.

4. Allocate Time and Responsibility

It has been said that we underestimate what we can achieve in a lifetime and overestimate what we can achieve in a year. How true!

-Estimate how much time each action will take and then add 25% to it to make room for those things that life tend to throw at us from time to time; this ensure that the tasks and deadlines you choose are achievable, it totally reduces the pressure of looming deadlines and then, if you accomplish the tasks quicker than planned that means you get to do whatever you want in that time!

-Now go through each item on the list and, based on how long each of these items will take you, decide if this is the best use of your time?

If you can earn £20, £50 or £100 an hour doing what you do, doesn't it make it make more sense to pay someone else £10 an hour to do a task for you, especially if it's a task you don't like doing or you're not particularly good at? For sure it does!

If you're thinking you can't afford to pay someone to do this, here's two new ways of looking at it.

-Think what it's really costing you to do this task (in terms of well being and more importantly, what it's keeping you away from) and then ask yourself 'Can I afford not to pay someone to do it?'

-Instead of saying I can't afford to pay someone ask yourself 'How can I afford pay someone to do this?'

Framing the question that way it helps your unconscious mind to help you find a resolution rather than just blindly assuming that you can't afford to pay them.

5. Now Take These Tasks Off Your To-Do List!

Once you've decided which tasks you really want or need to do yourself, and you've estimated how long they're going to take you, it's time to do something radical: take them off your to-do list! Now if you're saying 'What?' don't worry I've not gone mad.... take them off your to-do list and put them in your diary. This accomplishes a few things with one magic master stroke:

-It brings perspective which prevents overwhelm. Seeing that all the tasks on your list will take you, let's say 4 weeks, or 8 weeks, or 3 months, you can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that you have all that time to accomplish the tasks.

-It also means that if you go to bed tonight and it's not all done yet, you can relax knowing that's ok and that you still have all that time to complete it! A great deal of overwhelm is caused not by a shortage of time, but by expecting ourselves to achieve the impossible.

-It helps you focus. If your diary says that you're meant to do 30 minute of research at 10am then at 10am you know exactly what you're meant to be doing towards your goals; when you wake up in the morning, instead of overwhelm, it'll be all there, waiting for you, a clear layout of your day and the tasks you have chosen. [there's a special trick to helping you stick to this, more about this later!]

-It helps you to prioritise. As you put the tasks in your diary and you notice that the way things are now you're going to get to 'Book birthday party venue' 2 weeks after your birthday, you know it's time to re-prioritise; something that got slotted in earlier must make way for this more important task.

Instead of just cramming more tasks into your day, prioritising helps you to understand that everything can't be done in a day, and that some things, well, they just have to wait! It means you get to do the most important things first which means things don't become urgent which means... less overwhelm.

Allow a good couple of hours for this if you have a long list; spending this time up front will pay off in the long run and more importantly, you'll feel in charge of your life rather than it being it in charge of you!

Now remember to build in at least 25% extra time to cover those unexpected events when things, people and events won't always line up the way you want them to; also remember that you are not a machine (even though some days you think you are!) and that you need rest, recreation, exercise and sleep to function optimally. If it's important to you to spend a lot of time on emails, or Facebook, or exercise, build that time into your diary so you can do what you love without feeling guilty or thinking that you 'should' be doing something else.

6. Now Say Goodbye To The Boss (Just For Now!) And Get On With It

Now here's the magic trick that I talked about earlier. Once you've completed your planning, let go of being the boss and become the employee, and pretend that the employee that does not have the authority to question the boss' decisions! Trust that the boss has the bigger picture of what's most important.

Often when people complain that The Law of Attraction does not work for them, it's because they miss the most important step - taking action!

Every time you look at your diary and you don't feel like doing something or you're not sure if that's the right thing to be doing now, simply remind yourself that you do not have the authority to override the boss, get your head down and get on with it! In the end you are doing it for you, aren't you?

At the end of every day take a look at the tasks on your calendar and notice how you completed task after task after task. Acknowledge yourself for a day well spent and tasks(s) well done - and celebrate all successes!

7. Re-Invite the Boss At Least Once a Week

It's important to invite the boss back from time to time, maybe at the beginning or end of each day, or maybe once a week to re-evaluate your current priorities are still appropriate, re-adjust them as necessary and then, as tempted as you may be to remain 'the boss', let him or her go and once again, become the employee, trusting that 'the boss' has the bigger picture and knows best.

8. Tap!

There are some very simple energy tapping techniques that can help you with overwhelm; these techniques are quick and easy to learn and you can apply them to yourself when you need it the most - in the moment.

Serve Up Style on National Waiter and Waitress Day

Those not in the service industry don't realize what a tough job it is to be on the wait staff at a restaurant or bar. Long hours on your feet and little pay, except for tips earned, make this vocation one that can eat up the weak and wimpy. Thanks to National Waiters and Waitresses Day, held every May 21st, patrons every type of dining and drinking establishment have an opportunity to recognize the work these servers do day in and day out.

It is standard protocol to leave a tip of 15% for service in a restaurant and preferably 18 - 20% or more if the service was better than norm. Some people don't bother paying the tip which is unconscionable considering that wait staff doesn't even make minimum wage. On National Waiters and Waitresses Day, it would be a nice gesture to leave your server a little something extra along with a smile - something they don't get often enough.

Here's another tip; a fun way to celebrate this day of "dishing it up" is to dress up in a waiter or waitress costumes. Dress up in a waitress or waiter costume and "serve" dinner in your own home, imagine the surprise of your family when they order from printed up menus and are tended to with your impeccable manners and service. Hopefully, they'll turn the tables and do if for you next year.

Waiter costumes run the gamut from casual to formal. The most stereotypical waiter costume consists of a starched white dress shirt, black pants, a black bow tie and a white half-apron tied at the waist. A little, pencil-thin mustache and haughty attitude would add a dose of humor to any event. In October, scary Halloween costumes premised on waiters are popular including a men's waiter costume that features a head on a platter!

Costume ideas for waitress costumes range from kitschy, retro-diner inspired costumes. Inspired by the character Flo on the 70s television show "Alice", a diner costume features a uniform-looking, collared dress with an apron. Wear sensible shoes, a huge bouffant wig and smack on gum! Don't forget to bring along a little notebook for taking orders and stash the pencil behind your ear. You could also don roller skates and be a car hop waitress. Another popular womens costume is to dress as a barista in a coffee shop. Fashioned after the apron-look of employees at the most ubiquitous coffee shop in the country, this barista costume puts a sexy spin on selling coffee!

Jewelry Music Boxes

A music box, also known as a musical box, gives the feeling that it has been in existence since the dawn of time. A music box definitely has a long and storied history that goes years back. Before the TV and the radio were invented, these provided many with entertainment, be it for child or for adult.

The said item originated at the turn of the 19th century. It hasn't changed much over the years. It still has pins set on a rotating cylinder or disc. These discs have teeth on them that strike a metal comb within the music box. Once the teeth brushed against the comb, a sound is made. Some music boxes have a more detailed overall look to them compared to the others, like jewelry music boxes for example.

The "prototype" for the novelty item came in the form of the famous snuffbox. A snuffbox is something that men brought along inside their pocket. In time, music box sizes ranged from something the size of a snuffbox to something that could be the size of furniture.

As time progressed, the usual item size came to what can be presently known, a box that can be simply placed on a desktop. When the 19th century ended, music box makers would also be seen along the streets of major American cities.

Since then, many a music box has been made. These novelty items can be made to celebrate many occasions, like weddings and baptisms. The music that these boxes play can be from a classical piece by a renowned composer or a well-known theme from a classic movie. Aside from these, they can also be designed in an elaborate way. A perfect example would be jewelry music boxes, wherein pieces of jewelry adorn the interior as well as the exterior of the said music boxes.

One can find such unique items in various specialty shops. In case you are a tourist, you can pay a visit to these shops to find a box to commemorate your trip.

If you decide to purchase any jewelry music box, you should prepare a bit of money, as these boxes can be very detailed as well as costly because of the jewelry that decorate the box. These boxes, and any novelty item for that matter, are often made by hand.

A music box can be quite the strange yet startling gift as one can be proud to have an item that has such a long history. All you have to do is to open one, listen, and enjoy.

Article Marketing - How to Promote Teeth Whitening Solutions on the Internet Using Article Writing

To promote dentistry services using article writing, it's always wise to promote specific services. It's easier to write articles when you focus on just one service to promote. For example, you may wish to raise the profile of teeth whitening solutions for your clinic. Here are some related topics you can write about.

Tip 1: Why it's important to have a great smile.
Tip 2: Present the different teeth whitening treatments available.
Tip 3: Who should seek out such treatments.

Tip 1: Why it's important to have a great smile.

Different people seek out teeth whitening treatments for different reasons. But most people want whiter teeth because they want to smile more often. A great smile is important because a smile can affect how we interact with others in our daily lives. For example, you may receive better treatments from your fellow colleagues because you always smile kindly. Or you have this bubbling personality and you love to smile, but you are suppressing your smiles because your teeth look horrible. Whitening solutions may be what you need.

Tip 2: Present the different teeth whitening treatments available.

There are different types of teeth whitening procedures available - in-office laser bleaching, in-home custom fit tray bleaching, in-home whitening strips, and in-store whitening stands. Each procedure has its own pros and cons. Discuss these advantages and disadvantages in your articles.

Tip 3: Who should seek out such treatments.

Everyone has the right to a great smile. But a smile is more important to some people. For example, it helps celebrities tremendously to have a great smile at all times because they are in the lime light all the time. Recommend teeth whitening procedures for these people. They are your target customers.

Green, Green, What the Heck Does it All Mean?

You just cannot get away from it. No matter where you turn, "Going Green" is being pushed in your face whether you like it or not. Green is the buzzword being repeated by politicians, corporations, celebrities, teachers, entrepreneurs, ad agencies, students, etc. Billions have been spent on this very vague and fuzzy ideal simply because it is the buzzword. Come on boys! Let's jump on this bandwagon without knowing the details because if we don't, someone will think we don't care!

But wait, Mikhail, I know what "Going Green" means! Okay. Tell me. Below are some of the responses I've received.

• Recycling - ostensibly to save the planet
• Reducing my "Carbon Footprint" - again to save Earth
• Using alternative fuel sources besides oil - can you guess? Save the planet.
• Stop the use of chemicals on agriculture - ditto
• To stop Global Warming (or Cooling depending on what side of the fence you're on) - see above
• To become sustainable - ?

There are a lot of other answers I have received, but most boil down one of the above, a combination or all of them.

However, when you really press most people, they honestly do not have any idea what it means beyond the few catchphrases they have picked up. Some jump on the bandwagon not knowing where they are going. I have to admit, I was one of those people. I got wrapped up in Earth Day and what I could do to "make things better." (Cue majestic music and hand me my super-hero cape, please.)

Scheduling a neighborhood cleanup, getting brochures from Keep America Beautiful, purchasing soy based crayons and recycled paper coloring books for the kiddies, I was prepared to have an AWESOME Earth Day.

Nobody came. I mean, not one single person showed up to participate in the cleanup, no one took a brochure and no rug-rats colored on cartoon representations of our planet's resources. My ego deflated and the next thing I knew, I was blaming myself because my idea SUCKED!

The day was not a total waste as many of our commercial customers stopped by to check out our alternative fuel powered outdoor equipment. I couldn't be sure if that was because they were really interested or because we had lunch served by some lovely young ladies. I'm betting on the ladies.

So, I sat down and started asking some hard questions. What was Green? Why did I care? What could I have done to make things better - realistically? Was the idea important enough to me, the community and our customers to try again next year?

The more I thought, the more morose I became. Even if I did everything humanly possible to live Green, if no one else did, would it really matter? It was a depressing thought.

Did I want to help save the Earth? Well, yeah. Was I going to become a crusader for it? Um, no. I never saw myself as one of the pushy environmentalists and I sure don't want to become one, but can one person balance themselves to care, do what they can and make a difference without going overboard? Sure.

There is an insurance company whose current ads talk about responsibility. I like that message because responsibility is the one thing that I can hold myself to. If I decide to throw my aluminum cans in the garbage instead of recycling them, then I can hold myself responsible for contributing to our mounting garbage problem. On the other hand, if I decide to recycle them, then I am responsible for taking a little (even if it is teeny tiny) pressure off.

I cannot make anyone else take responsibility for their environment. I can only control mine. Creating legislation, being "in your face", making people feel guilty, eco-terrorism, and overwhelming people with buzzwords won't change them. There are always going to be people who just do not care. You can drive yourself insane trying to get through to them. Others will not listen because of their political or religious beliefs. No use trying to get them to change their minds. Instead, take responsibility for yourself and your choices.

So what the heck does Green mean to me? Taking responsibility for my waste and power consumption. I know that I could always improve on what I am doing personally, but only I can take those steps.

Find the Top Eye Wrinkle Cream With These Helpful Tips and Advice

Let's face it, finding a top eye wrinkle cream can be hard to do if you do not know exactly what it is you are looking for. Sure you want something that gets rid of eye wrinkles, but what type of ingredients are needed in order to do this? This article will give you some great tips and advice for finding a top eye wrinkle cream so you do not have to rely on trial and error to find one.

This may come as a huge surprise to you, but what most people consider top eye wrinkle creams are not really the most effective ones on the market. Most people only consider products to be top eye wrinkle creams if they are made by popular and well-known brands. But in reality, the more popular companies are only well-known because they spend a huge amount of money on marketing and advertising their brand name.

It's much better to take a completely different approach to finding a top eye wrinkle cream. Forget about price, brand names, and celebrities who sponsor skin care products. You know why? Because the only thing that really determines the effectiveness an eye wrinkle cream is the ingredients it contains and the amounts of them that are included in the product itself.

I've actually found that it's much easier to find a top eye wrinkle cream once you already figure out which specific ingredients work best at reducing wrinkles. To figure this out, you really need to know what causes wrinkles to form in the first place. Then once you find specific ingredients that address these major causes, all that's left is searching for products that contain those ingredients.

For example, perhaps the most common causes of wrinkles is the decrease in firmness and elasticity within the skin. This naturally happens as you get older because your body is not able to produce as much collagen and elastin protein over the years, which determines how firm, tight, and elastic your skin is.

One of the best ingredients that I've found to address this problem very well is CynergyTK™, which is extracted from the wool of New Zealand sheep. It's unique bio-active polymers and proteins make it very effective at stimulating more collagen and elastin production within the skin which is necessary in order to make the skin firmer and more elastic.

Once I discovered this ingredient, all I had to do was look for a top eye wrinkle cream that contained effective amounts of it. That's all there really is to it! Just make sure it contain ingredients that address the other causes of wrinkles too....

Proper Weight Loss Takes Lots of Patience

Losing weight can be a big challenge. With the seemingly ever-increasing pace of life making it extra difficult to eat properly or get in a fair amount of exercise, the weight loss challenge has become even bigger. Sure you can try to put on the breaks and try to adhere to the rigidness of a new fad diet or extreme workout program, but the pace of life and the snacking and junk food temptations will still be there when you have finished the diet. The key to weight loss has more to do with changing simple habits, little by little. One such habit that deserves our attention and one that can make a huge difference in effecting weigh loss is patience.

You may be thinking what patience has got to do with weight loss. In this case, we are referring to patience when you are around food. Imagine that you have been invited to spend an evening with a group of friends. The host or hostess of the gathering has likely put out a variety of snack foods and spread then throughout the home.

Instead of diving right in and starting the non-stop automatic snacking that almost all of us engage in, make a point to wander about the premises and make mental notes of the kinds of snacks that have been put out. Rank the food in order as to which ones you think will taste the best.

An important piece of this strategy is not to play the denial game with yourself. Allow yourself the freedom to sample many of the delicious looking food items, just not right off the bat. With just a little restraint you will do wonders for your weight loss program.

Time is your ally in the patience department. Since the get together will most likely end at a fairly predictable time, you can assess when you are in the homestretch of the evening and simply begin to eat your favorite snacks at that time. You will have avoided the unnecessary over-snacking, but you will have not gone down the dangerous road of denial that almost always backfires in the end.

This kind of restraint can easily evolve into habit that can be exhibited in other venues as well. Many work places have periodic social functions that involve all the employees. These functions invariably include food in the picture. Some kind of lunch event, an after work awards ceremony, a holiday celebration - these are a few of many examples of where a little patience and restraint can go a long way toward keeping you on your weight loss road.

Again, don't dive in immediately and start gobbling everything in sight. Fortunately for us, these events typically last an hour or two, at the most. Your wait won't have to be that long. Go ahead and enjoy the various flavors like everybody else, just don't get a running start into the snack fest. Remember, it is always easier to wait to push the food accelerator than it is to put on the food brakes once you have developed a pretty good food eating head of steam.

The cumulative effect of your patience will be amazing. This is a kind of habit or strategy that you can incorporate as a permanent piece of your lifestyle. The weight loss will be gradual, but profound and permanent.

Here is One Sure Way to Prevent Face Wrinkles

Yes, we are not getting any younger, and so is our skin. If you are starting to notice fine lines on your skin, or the first signs of wrinkles, you should not wait for them to set in before you do anything. If you do not have wrinkles now, it does not mean that you will never have them - it might only be a matter of time!

So how can you prevent face wrinkles? Well, there are various ways. You can start by living a healthy lifestyle, eating healthy foods, and nourish your skin with the right intake of vitamins and minerals. However, simply being healthy does not assure you of an equally healthy, wrinkle-free skin. You will need skin care products to help you. As far as skin care products are concerned, this article will present to you one special sure-fire, yet simple way to prevent wrinkles.

Without much ado, here it is: applying a nourishing day cream under your makeup. It is usually during the day when we expose our skin to harmful UV rays and environmental pollution. These are two of the most potent causes of wrinkles. Using a day cream will assure you that your skin is protected all day long, even from the harsh chemicals that may be contained in the cosmetics that you use.

However, you have to exercise extreme caution on choosing the day cream to apply. What you need is a day cream that penetrates the skin deeply to give it the protection it needs. More importantly, you need a day cream that targets the three main causes of visible aging, which includes:

Reduced production or loss of collagen and elastin with age

Lowered levels of hyaluronic acid due to breaking down by the enzyme hyaluronidase

Oxidation due to free radicals

With all the skin care products today, how do you know if the day cream can really prevent wrinkles? You can tell just by looking at the ingredients or components list. An effective day cream that can target these three issues would most likely contain the following ingredients to combat aging:

Cynergy TK. This breakthrough technology in skin care has been proven to be effective in stimulating regrowth of elastin, collagen and new skin cells. Increased levels will allow your wrinkles to slowly disappear so you can have more youthful skin.

Phytessence Wakame

This ingredient is an extract from a variety of kelp that can only be found in Japanese seas. It can inhibit the action of hylauronidase so you can enjoy increased levels of hyaluronic acid, which is important in preventing wrinkles.

Nano-Lipobelle H EQ10

This is the nano-emulsion form of the much celebrated Coenzyme Q10. This form is proven to penetrate deeply down through the seven layers of skin for ultimate effectiveness. It can gobble up free radicals, which results to significant anti-wrinkle effect.

Your day cream can also contain plant and fruit extracts, botanical ingredients and vitamins such as macadamia oil, shea butter, and vitamin E, which can synergistically work hand in hand to reduce wrinkles in just a few weeks of continued use. Follow this simple yet very effective tip if you want to reduce wrinkles before it is too late!

Tips to Boost Your Self Esteem

1. Take a few moments each day to really appreciate yourself
One of the first things you can do when you wake up in the morning is to think about what makes you the special and unique person that you are. Now it might not be easy to come up with a long list at first, but as you get used to noticing some of the nice things people say to you and about you, it will get easier. It doesn't have to be big stuff, it can be small things such as remembering that people often tell you that you have a lovely smile or nice eyes or that you have a fantastic sense of humor.

2. Remember the times where you have been successful in the past
Think about all the times when you've been really good at something. Make a list in a little book (get yourself the prettiest little notebook you can find) and keep it with you all the time, so that you can keep adding to it. Look at it to remind you how good it feels to be successful and look at it often. When you feel your confidence is disappearing in a moment of panic, take a quick look in your 'success book' and read about all the times you have overcome your fear in the past. Whatever is eating at your confidence, know deep down that you can do this!

3. Mix with positive happy people
I truly believe it makes such a huge difference to our lives if we mix with positive people. Not only will their lightness of mood be good for your soul, you can also model their positive behavior to get great results yourself. So when you are in need of cheering up, go out and spend some time with an energy angel, someone who makes you feel happy. Make a mental note of the positive words they regularly use and the positive outlook they have and include it in your everyday life. And if you don't much feel like being positive, you know the old saying, fake it 'til you make it - you can't keep a smile suppressed for long!

4. Listen out for any negative self-talk and stop it - fast!
You know how it is, you make a little mistake; spill a drink on a friends cream carpet, forget to post an important letter... and you call yourself a silly cow or something equally offensive or worse. Would you actually talk to a good friend in the way you talk to yourself at times I wonder? Probably not - or they wouldn't be a good friend for long. Keep a check and be mindful of the amount of times you talk negatively to yourself and instead of saying "silly cow" say something like "I didn't expect that to happen!" and smile about it instead - after all, you are probably past the point of being able to change what has happened, so what is the good of calling yourself names to make yourself feel even worse?

The more you tell your subconscious mind that you aren't any good, the more it will become a reality for you. Remember, what you think affects how you feel. What you feel affects how you behave and how you behave affects how you think about yourself. Break this destructive cycle, be kind to yourself for a change!

5. The gift of words
Giving and more importantly receiving compliments is crucial to increasing your self esteem. OK, I know how hard it is when someone says something nice to you and you really don't agree with them or you simply don't believe it. But trust me, a simple thank you is all you need to say to acknowledge what they are telling you. It will make them feel happy that you have accepted their gift - because that is exactly what it is - a gift of words. More to the point, if you insist on rejecting compliments, sooner or later people might stop paying you any.

6. Affirmations
Now some people are quite embarrassed at the thought of using positive affirmations. But in my experience, if you use them every day it really is very effective at tapping into your subconscious mind to alter the way you feel about yourself. Pick out a negative belief which you hold to be true such as; "I'm not a confident person, I'm no good at anything anymore" and change it to say "I am a confident person who is has many skills to offer and I look for ways to learn something new each day".

It's a good idea to focus on just three areas of negative belief to work on at a time. Practice positive affirmations every day and you will soon find it gets easier to feel more positive about yourself. It is worth persevering for at least 30 days and then you will find that it becomes an unconscious habit.

7. Be a lion!
You are a unique and wonderful human being so celebrate the fact that you are different to other people. It really doesn't matter how others see you, it really doesn't matter how you compare to anyone else. What really matters is how you see yourself. Make sure that when you look in the mirror, you welcome the lion that's waking up inside you!

Avoid a Kitchen Burnout With the Latest in Kitchen Design

You may have recently seen the TV programme Marco's Kitchen Burnout and thought to yourself 'I can do better than any of those Z-list celebrities.' The advantage that they have is that not only do they have a Michelin star chef looking over their shoulders and providing them with help, but they also have all the latest kitchen tools and equipment necessary to make their food look great and taste of the finest quality.

But this does not mean that you cannot also achieve similar results as a new kitchen could enhance your cookery skills ten fold. A modern kitchen design will not just boost the appearance of your home, but it will come fully installed with all the latest kitchen accessories and appliances that you could ever need.

If you are the type of person who likes to invite people round for dinner, then one of the things you will most dread is having to wash up afterwards once everyone leaves. But, in a modern fitted kitchen a dishwasher will usually be present which means all you have to do is get stacking the plates and at the touch of a button your crockery will look as good as new. If you prefer to wash by hand to get that extra sheen on your plates, then a deep sink with gleaming taps will enable you to get rid of those stubborn marks.

You can make the eating experience that little bit more intimate by having a breakfast bar installed in the kitchen area so that it gives the chance for everyone to get together for a good old natter. If you need to prepare your food quickly, then a microwave will be on hand or if you have the time to prepare three courses, then the oven is always a reliable option.
